Scrumptious Garlic Hummus

Happy Spring!! It’s a whopping 27 degrees outside, how lovely. I am so ready for this snowy, icy weather to go away. I want to lay in the sun, plant a garden, and not have to bundle up to be outside for 3 minutes! Anyway, hummus reminds me of summer andI love this garlic-y dip, so I just had to make some today!

For a long time I bought the store version and didn’t really pay attention to the ingredients. But I have learned that even the simplest foods can have undesirable ingredients. This recipe is much lower if fat and calories than what is usually found in stores. Obviously, it doesn’t taste exactly like what you buy in a package, but I prefer this fresh and flavorful hummus.

Enjoy with pita chips or vegetables. I used my whole wheat tortillarecipe and cut them into pie shaped slices. Spread a tiny amount of coconut oil, olive oil, or spray and place on baking sheet. Broil on low for a couple minutes. Be careful, they can burn quickly! P1090183 Edited

Some of mine got a little too crispy. šŸ™‚

P1090182 EditedYou can customize this dip to your tasteĀ preference, if you want it tangier add more yogurt or lemon juice. More tahini will make it taste smoother, and of course, add as much garlic as you’d like, just watch out for stinky breath!

Enjoy and I’ll keep wishing for Spring!
