Trail Mix Cookies

These cookies are delicious, healthy, and they use up the bottom of the trail mix bag- whats leftover after everyone picks out the good stuff. The add-ins can be changed up depending on what you like. The base for these cookies is the same as the Healthiest Chocolate Chip Cookies. The add-ins can be a store bought trail mix, or homemade. Anything you like! I used raisins, almonds, brazil nuts, and chocolate chips. I would of added some mini pretzels too, but we didn’t have any.

You could also add mini marshmallows, dried cranberries, dried pineapple, figs, banana chips, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, chia seeds…you get the point.

  1. Preheat oven to 380 degrees
  2.  Combine dry ingredients
  3. Add in wet ingredients and mix well
  4. Roughly chop add-in ingredients and combine with dough
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes
  6. Form ping pong sized balls-place on baking sheet, lightly press down
  7. Bake for 7-9 minutes
  8. Enjoy!

Happy Weekend!!

  1. i’ve been looking for a way to use up some brazil nuts i bought… i didn’t realize that they were such an oily nut, kind of like walnuts!

i find that with cookies, i like to mix all the add-ins that i like without regarding what tastes good together 😉 i’ve made oatmeals cookies with chopped milky ways, almonds and craisins.. kindof unconventional, but yummy nonetheless!

    • Wow, that sounds fantastic! Can’t go wrong with milky ways! I can’t wait to try more combinations.

I think people forget about brazil nuts as a baking ingredient, but I love the way they taste, and they are such a great source of selenium.
